Main Entrances
The cathedral has three main entrances located on either side of the large bronze door facing the front of the building. The left entrance is for general admission, while the entrances on the right are reserved for visitors with skip-the-line tickets or online reservations.
To reach the Duomo Milan’s main entrance, you need to take the Yellow Underground (M3) line from Central Station and exit at the Duomo stop. It should be noted that the main entrance is open daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Side Entrances to the Cathedral
The side entrances of the cathedral are located on the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II side and the Martini/Arcivescovado side. These entrances are specifically for those attending religious events.
If you are travelling by tram, take Tram 15 and get off at the Piazza Via Fontana stop. The Martini side entrance is open daily from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, and the entrance on the Emanuele II side is open from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Elevator Entrance
For those who prefer not to take the stairs, the elevator entrance provides a quick route to the cathedral’s rooftop. The elevator offers a Fast Track option for easy access to the terrace, which is perfect for visitors short on time.
The regular elevator entrance is on the north side of the cathedral, while the fast-track elevator entrance is on the south side. In the summer, the elevators operate from 9:00 AM to 5:45 PM, and in winter, from 9:00 AM to 4:45 PM.
